It is 14th February and Love is in the air. For everyone single and in a relation there can be no better day than today to love if not fall in love and rise to it. Bollywood has been the best source for bringing the most romantic and unusual love stories. Here we pick the top 5 movies which have stayed in our heart and minds for years and have left an everlasting impression.
5 – Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein – starring Madhavan and Dia Mirza the movie was fresh and beautifully personifying true love and romance. Harris Jayaraj’s soulful music a highlight.
4 – Rangeela – Aamir and Urmila’s this story was the most unconventional romantic film. Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, the film talks about a middle class girl and her ambitions and her love with her childhood friend Munna – an orphan.
3 – Maine Pyar Kiya – Salman and Bhagyashree’s debut film. Fresh romantic story with some wonderful music by Raam Laxman the film was a cult in its time.
2 – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – The fact that “Love is Firendship” was epitomised truly by this. Rahul and Anjali a name that became synonymous with a lot of kids born after the release of this excellent film. Still a favourite amongst all.
1 – Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge – Undoubtedly the most romantic film ever made in Bollywood after Mughal – E – Azam, Shahrukh’s and Kajol’s crackling chemistry and some thrilling moments made people fall and rise in love at the same time. A record breaker, the film still plays at a small theatre in Mumbai titled Maratha Mandir.
All these films and some many more who do not feature in this cult list have thought us how to live how to love. This day could be the best to re-live those days and to fall in LOVE again with time and these movies.
